“What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.”

We all want to immortalize the best parts of our lives for us to look back on with fondness. Remember that day at the beach? No? Look at that photo and the memories will surge back in an instant. That’s the magic of photography, an art that helps us relive the beautiful moments in life.

Despite the fact that most everyone knows this, however; many people live their lives without having professional pictures of their pets. This is a real shame because no matter how rad that day at the beach was, or how much fun hanging out with friends was, it will never compare to the moments you’ve had with your pets. This is one of the main reasons why you should always include your pet in your photo session, but it’s not the only one out there.

Many think back at their lost pets and feel only grief and remorse, but this doesn’t have to be the case. Because we usually see our pets in their last moments, we tend to overlook the good moments we had with them ourselves. Having professional images of your pet can help restore those fond memories and bring them back up whenever we look at them.

They will be there for a long time, watching over us, protecting us, loving us. For those ten to twenty years our pets will be there to comfort us, they will be the love of our life and they’ll give their everything for us because we are their life. We are not just a part of their life, we are their whole life. They love us more than anything, and they’ll love us until the day they’re sadly no longer with us. This is why it's so important to have beautiful imagery of your pet, it's the best way to immortalize their impact on our life.

Another reason why I always recommend including your pet in your photo session is that your pet is not just an animal you take care of, it’s family. Pets may start off as freeloaders that occasionally pee on your carpet and sharpen their claws on the side of your mattress, but in time they become a lot more than that, they become our best friend, our comforting shoulder to cry on, they become our family. So, whenever you have family photos done, it’s so important to remember your pets as more than just animals, immortalize them as part of the family for good through those images.

Pets are also known to make every picture look better. While humans will constantly worry about how they look in their pictures, a pet will never think twice about having its picture taken, making the perfect facial expression needed to warm up your heart every time you look at the photo.

No need to fake smile anymore, just hold up your pet and see everyone’s faces light up in an instant. We all love our pets, more than anything else in the world, and a simple look at our little fur babies can be enough to bring a smile to anyone’s faces, especially children. Do you know how hard it is to make a child sit still and smile for a picture? It’s very hard, to put it bluntly. But with the help of our pets, we don’t even need to try anymore because the children will have a perfect smile draped across their faces from the moment that they see their pet pose for the picture.

Showing off your pets to strangers is also a great conversation starter. *Cough, Tinder* There’s nothing cuter out there than a smiling pet, and there’s simply no way someone could ever see a picture of you hugging your pet and not ask to meet them themselves. ;)

Relationships between humans can go sour, but a pet will always remain just as loyal and loving as they were on the first day you saw that beautiful, goofy face.

These are only a few reasons for including your pet in your photo session, I could literally go on for days and days to no end. At the end of the day, it’s all about what you want to remember the most, and for me, I want to cherish all of those cuddles and sloppy kisses for as long as I can, and after.

xo, Heather
