“No matter how you’re feeling, a little dog gonna love you.”
Meet: Elizabeth + David + Finn
Elizabeth came to me looking for family photos with her dog, Finn. This month is a big milestone for the threesome, as it’s Elizabeth and David’s first wedding anniversary. One year ago, they had a beautiful elopement wedding in Oregon. June also marks their rescue dog, Finn’s, first birthday! I was so excited when Elizabeth asked me to capture these memories for her. Pet photography, specifically dog photography, is my absolute favorite!
I met the couple, just outside of Cincinnati in a beautiful location near Miami Whitewater Forest. It had rained all day, but the clouds had cleared, and I could tell it was going to be a beautiful sunset, and it was. The first thing I noticed was Elizabeth’s infectious smile and her love for her dog, Finn. She told me the story about when she adopted Finn. Finn was found in a coal mine in Kentucky, when she went to meet him, he was so excited to be shown love for one of the first times in his life. My heart broke, but then I quickly reminded myself of just how much he is now loved. Pet adoption is so amazing, not only for the dog, but for the adapters as well.
On a funny note, at the time of Finn’s adoption, Elizabeth and her husband, David, were told that Finn was a German Shepherd mix and would be about 80 lbs. grown. Sweet puppy, Finn, is 14 lbs. at one-year-old. Haha. However, I think their photos show, that no matter what size their dog, Finn, is they love him to pieces!
