“Everything you can imagine is real.”
Meet: Daisha + Alanna + Opal
If you follow me on social media you’ve probably seen me raving about Wüf Pet Spa in Cincinnati, my dog’s groomer. They all do amazing work and truly care about your dog; they don’t use crate dryers and each groomer only takes on one dog at a time so your dog will never be crated and receives personalized care (plus, blueberry facials). From what I have learned, this is not common practice and is one of the many things that makes Wüf stand out from the pack (sorry, not sorry about the bad pun). They were even voted Cincinnati Citybeat Best Pet Grooming of 2020, it’s their first year of business!
The reason I am telling you about this, is Daisha is one of the dog groomers at Wüf Pet Spa. Daisha is a super talented dog stylist and color expert. She has such a creative mind when it comes to dog grooming, Cincinnati is lucky to have her. I have been fangirling over her dog, Opal, a white standard poodle, on social media for about a year now. Opal is an absolute legend. She’s always got a new hairdo, done by Daisha, that includes beautiful colors, nail polish, and more. Currently, Opal looks like the most delicious cotton candy you’ve ever seen. I took everything in me not to squeeze her fluffy, teddy bear self, though at the end of the photo-shoot I did steal a few cuddles.
I met with Daisha, Alanna (Daisha's daughter), and Opal at Findlay Market in Over-The-Rhine in Cincinnati. It’s a beautiful market with vibrant colors and elaborate murals. During our photo session, I quickly realized I’m not the only one who can’t get enough of this pup we were stopped by admirers many times. I mean this girl literally stopped traffic. A film crew was out while were at Findlay Market for pictures and they ask if Opal could be in the commercial, they were filming, right on the spot. This poodle pup doesn’t let all the fame get to her head, as she was honestly one of, if not the most, well-behaved dogs I have ever photographed. Her determiner is just as soft and gentle as she looks. No jumping, not overly excited, simply just doing as she was told by dog-mom, Daisha.
As if that wasn’t enough, Daisha’s daughter, Alanna, joined in on the photo fun! She has the sweetest little face, with a matching heart. Alanna loves her sister, Opal, but couldn’t decide on which of her four pet brothers and sisters were her favorite. I’m referring to them as brothers and sisters because, when I asked Alanna if she had any siblings, she started naming off her pets. How cute?! This four-year-old sweetheart is starting kindergarten this year. She seemed nervous, but I know she will do great!
Within the next few months, I plan on writing a blog post about the myths, facts, and more on dog hair coloring. Daisha and one of the owners of Wüf, Jessie, are allowing me inside access to the salon in order to learn all about creative dog grooming. I can’t wait! Stay tuned for that and until then, enjoy these gorgeous pictures of these gorgeous girls!
